OK, I wouldn't say this is the best game ever played or even the best one I've ever seen.  Not enough offense and momentum/lead changes for that.  But I will say this: I have never been so fully engrossed in a 9-6 football game.  It was like a movie that's so good you lose all sense of time.  I felt like I was watching Ali vs. Frazier.

I'm a Florida fan, but not an SEC homer.  I don't like either of these teams and wish there was some way they could have both lost tonight.  But how can anyone doubt that we just watched the real national champion  crowned?  I don't care if there's an upset along the way now, or even if some Cinderella team pulls a surprise in the January title game.  We all know these are - by far - the best two teams in the country.

No brainer NFL players - Trent Richardson, Morris Claiborne, Eric Reid.

LSU is NOT a better team than Alabama.  This might as well have been a coin toss.  If these teams play ten times, it's 5-5.

A.J. McCarron's pick was a poorly thrown ball, but Jarret Lee's picks were god awful brain farts.  If we had known in advance that the 2008 Lee would play and have two picks and only three completions, what do you think the line would have been?

Whoever said special teams would be the difference in the game was a very smart man.

Now some humor:

I have a dream.   That the SEC drops CBS and picks up ESPN.  ESPN then fires Gary Danielson and hires Verne Lundquist.  Then Brent Musberger retires and Lundquist reunites with Todd Blackledge as the lead broadcast team for marquee college games.  Rod Fowler and David Pollack handle the second tier games.  Kirk Herbstreit leaves broadcasting to become a male model.

Q: Why do some Alabama color guard girls use pom poms while others use batons?

A:  The pom pom girls aren't smart enough to handle the batons and are given poms poms so they can't harm themselves or those near them.
